A taste of Yorkshire for Dales Festival-goers

Visitors to the Dales Festival of Food & Drink will be treated to a taste of Yorkshire this weekend, on the Wensleydale Creamery stand.

The Creamery is bringing along a range of its handcrafted cheeses, including new varieties Blue 16, Yorkshire Wensleydale & Cherries, and its award-winning Mature Cheddar with Black Sheep Riggwelter Ale in a waxed truckle. Visitors will also find the newly relaunched Yorkshire Butter, churned from fresh Yorkshire cream.

Visitors to the stand will also have the opportunity to enter a competition to win one of The Creamery’s fantastic hampers, packed with handcrafted cheeses and tasty accompaniments.

On both days of the food & drink festival, visitors can enjoy a cheese-making demonstration with one of The Wensleydale Creamery’s cheese  experts; in around 40 minutes they can see eight pints of milk being turned into a 500g Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese!

Look out for the Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Truckle trail around Leyburn market town too – see http://dalesfestivaloffood.org/ for more information.
