Calvert’s reopens in time for Summer

We’re delighted to announce that from Tuesday 23^rd May, we’ll be reopening Calvert’s, our main eatery here at our Visitors Centre in Hawes!

Alongside the reopening, we’re also launching a brand-new cheese-themed menu, which we know you’re going to love!

Join us for coffee and cake alongside light bites, delicious mains, and desserts and our exciting new addition, The Wensleydale Cheese Bar!

 A tapas-style dining experience, the Cheese Bar will allow you to indulge in a selection of our handcrafted cheeses, each perfectly paired with a carefully selected accompaniment, to complement their delicious natural flavours.

Choose from the original creamy, crumbly Yorkshire Wensleydale paired with Rosebud Preserves Yorkshire Wensleydale Chutney, Naturally Oak-Smoked Yorkshire Wensleydale alongside sweet basil olives, or Kit Calvert Old-Style Wensleydale served with half a bulb of The Garlic Farm sweet-syrupy flavoured Black Garlic for a match made in culinary heaven!

For fans of something a little different, try Yorkshire Wensleydale & Stem Ginger perfectly paired alongside Choc Affair’s Lime & Sea Salt Dark Chocolate or our Yorkshire Cheddar with the finest Filey Bay Flagship Single Malt Whisky to name but a few.

To complete the experience, the Cheese Bar menu also includes a range of side dishes, from delicious Cockett’s Bakery fruit cake, handmade, just a stone’s throw from the Creamery, to homemade oat biscuits with Yorkshire butter, crusty bread and olives and local charcuterie. The new menu is a fantastic way to sample Wensleydale’s delicious range with family and friends as part of your visit.

Are you a lover of our classic Creamery dishes?  Don’t worry, the new menu still includes some of our most popular dishes, including the Ultimate Wensleydale Creamery Rarebit and the Wensleydale Creamery Three Cheese Quiche, along with some delicious new additions; Wensleydale Mac n Five Cheeses and the Wensleydale Sourdough Pizza.
