Digital Days Out Monday 6th April – Easter Bunny Hats Kids Activity

Keep the kids entertained with these make your own Easter Bunny Hats made from items that can be easily found around the house. These are perfect for a family Easter Egg Hunt around the garden. Remember you can use any colour card you can find in the house; we made Easter Bunnies however, any type of animals can be made, for example,  mice (after all, they do love cheese)!

What you will need:

  • Colourful Card
  • Scissors
  • Permanent Marker
  • Glue
  • Sellotape
  • String

Step 1: Start by cutting out all the pieces you will need for your Easter Bunny Hat. Cut a fan shape for your party hat, a triangle bunny nose, long thin pieces for the whiskers and finally two bunny ears. (Tip: Hat templates can be found online if you are struggling with the shape)

Step 2: Fold the fan hat piece to form a cone. Glue the two sides together and reinforce with a small piece of Sellotape if needed.

Step 3: Attached the triangle nose with glue and simply draw the eyes and the mouth with your permanent marker.

Step 4: Glue the ears to the back of the hat and again secure with Sellotape if needed. Your hat should be beginning to look like a bunny now!

Step 5: Using your scissors cut two pieces of string of about 20cm in length. Place one of the string pieces inside the hat and attach with Sellotape. Then do the same with the other piece of string at the other side of the cone.

Step 6: Glue the thin whisker strips of paper either side of the nose.

Step 7: Place the Easter Bunny Hat on your head and tie the two pieces of string underneath your chin. Then enjoy your Easter with your new bunny hats!
