Easter in Wensleydale – Cheese, Chocolate & Fabulous Days Out!

Wensleydale is hosting some of the best days out to be enjoyed by all ages this Easter. From beautiful guided walks showcasing some of Yorkshire’s most stunning views and incredible natural beauty in the form Aysgill Force in Hawes, the newly born spring lambs in the surrounding fields to Easter Chocolate Nest Making at the Dales Countryside Museum, where else would you rather be this Easter?

If you are looking for a family day out with lots of chocolate involved, then The Yorkshire Dales National Park is hosting a Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt over at Hudswell Woods in Richmond. Their drop-in event offers a nature trail in meadows and ancient woodland on the banks of the River Swale. Buy a trail sheet and get Easter Egg Hunting. Alternatively, Bolton Castle offers Easter activities for all the family to enjoy including egg painting, egg rolling competitions as well as Easter trails to find the Dragon Egg.

 

 

Once you’ve eaten your body weight in chocolate how about you eat your body weights worth of cheese here at Wensleydale Creamery. We have a full programme of daily cheese and butter making demonstrations in our new Demonstration Room of our Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience as well as an opportunity to see our cheese being made in our creamery from our Viewing Gallery. We also have our Cheese Shop with complimentary cheese tasting of over 20 different varieties of our award-winning cheese. As well as our Gift Shop that stocks the perfect spring and Easter Gifts from cheese hampers and accompaniments, crockery, homeware or perhaps one of the Easter Egg Hunt sets we have in store so that you can make your own hunt at home!

Perhaps a more peaceful Easter may involve a circular walk up to Hardraw at the top of Hawes to see Hardraw Falls then back to the Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre to our Calvert’s Restaurant where we are offering a new Spring Menu & any 2 courses for £12.95 or 3 courses for £16.95. Alternatively, enjoy a lighter menu with speciality coffees and home-made cakes in our 1897 Coffee Shop and soak up the stunning panoramic views in the outdoor seating in our garden.
