Friends of the Creamery: Corks and Cases

Cheese and wine are a match made in culinary heaven, but have you tried cheese and gin?

Independent wine merchants and gin distillery Corks and Cases is run by husband-and-wife team Derek and Carol Harle and based in the market town of Masham on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.

What they don’t know about wine and spirits isn’t worth knowing, and their small, boutique wine shop, which stocks an exceptional range from around the world, makes them the perfect partner for our handcrafted range.

Looking for something a bit different or just some pointers on where to start? Enjoy a bright fruity Cinsault to make to flavours of our Wensleydale Blue sing or a medium bodied Gewürztraminer to pair perfectly with our sweet and warming Yorkshire Wensleydale & Ginger.

Whilst their talented team produce their own Spirit of Masham gin, they’re also responsible for creating our very own Wensleydale Creamery Dry Yorkshire Gin too.  Designed specifically for us here at the Creamery, it uses the whey from our traditional cheesemaking process to create a gin that perfectly balances our creamy, crumbly Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese.

Come and try it for yourself! Derek from Corks and Cases will be joining us here at the Creamery between 11 – 3pm in our Gift Shop and New Taste of Yorkshire cheese pairing room on Wednesday 2nd November sampling our own Wensleydale Creamery Dry Yorkshire Gin

We’ll also have a special offers available on the day; receive a 200g Yorkshire Wensleydale freshly cut cheese with each 70cl bottle of Wensleydale Creamery Dry Yorkshire Gin purchased.

Or, available until Christmas, buy a 20cl Gin & 4 Yorkshire Tonics with a Yorkshire Wensleydale 200g Truckle in a gift bag for £24.95 (saving £5 off the online price)
