Get set for the Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival 2024
A showcase of the rich tradition of cheese-making and a celebration of the abundance of local produce in our region, The Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival returns this October 11-14th and along with other local businesses here in the Yorkshire Dales, we’re getting involved!
Here at Wensleydale Creamery, home of the UK’s flagship Cheese Experience, we’ve got lots to see, do and of course to eat, to keep the whole family entertained!
Children under 16 get free entry to the Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience during the festival as well as every weekend and during school holidays. Come and enjoy a delicious day out and try our Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival specials in Calvert’s and our 1897 Coffee Shop, and sample some of our Yorkshire supplies goods in our Cheese and Gift Shop.
Join us in our Demonstration Room and watch one of our team create Yorkshire Wensleydale before taking a peek inside the Creamery to see our talented team at work from the viewing gallery.
Here you’ll also find lots of interactive things to do and learn. Put your cheese knowledge to the test and take NEW Cheese Trail as part of your visit and discover what makes Yorkshire Wensleydale so special. Learn out about the fascinating the 1000-year history of cheese making here in the Dales and how the Creamery has evolved and created new flavours and products. Perfect for the whole family.
Don’t forget to have your picture taken with Yorkshire Wensleydale’s biggest fans, Wallace & Gromit, along with some of their famous friends. Created by the Hawes Yarnbombers, these life-sized creations have now made the Creamery their permanent home and have to be seen to be believed!
You’ll love our ‘Taste of Yorkshire’ Tasting Room where you can sample our entire range of hand-crafted cheeses and learn about the perfect pairings for each. From fruitcake to chutney, wine to whisky, there’s something to tickle everyone’s taste buds.
Joining us for lunch or a light bite? Alongside our special dishes created for the festival weekend, discover our delicious cheese themed menus in Calvert’s and our 1897 Coffee Shop and dog friendly garden. Enjoy cheese on toast, Wensleydale Mac n Cheese, homemade soups, sandwiches and snacks or treat yourself to a delicious cake and coffee with stunning panoramic views across the Yorkshire Dales.
