Iconic Yorkshire Brands The Wensleydale Creamery & Yorkshire Provender Announce Brand Partnership

The Wensleydale Creamery, makers of the famous Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese, have secured an exclusive supply and brand partnership with Yorkshire Provender Soup.

The Creamery will supply its renowned creamy, crumbly & full of flavour cheese to the North Yorkshire-based soup experts, for its Yorkshire Provender Tomato and Red Pepper with Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese soup, which features new packaging, highlighting the provenance of the cheese with the Wensleydale Creamery logo.

The new soup packaging is being rolled out through Waitrose, Co-op, Budgens, Ocado, Tesco (north of England), Booths and Nisa stores from 14th October 2014

David Hartley, Managing Director at Wensleydale Creamery, said:  “We’re delighted to have partnered with another iconic Yorkshire brand and are proud to have our brand displayed on the soup packaging.

“Our heritage coupled with our provenance, where we handcraft our cheese to a time honoured recipe in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales using milk from local farms makes Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese taste truly unique and it’s fantastic to see it being used to compliment other areas of the chilled food category.”

Belinda Williams, co-founder of Yorkshire Provender, said: “Yorkshire Provender is committed to sourcing the highest quality ingredients directly from local suppliers & British farms.

“Growing up in Wensleydale, the Creamery has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. We felt using the Wensleydale brand reinforces our choice of the best tasting ingredients, with the creamy, crumbly and full flavour taste of Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese contrasting perfectly with our sweet tomato and red pepper base. There is only one choice for Wensleydale cheese and that is Yorkshire Wensleydale – the only one from Wensleydale.

“We’re delighted to have The Wensleydale Creamery as a key partner and we have more new products planned for the range as part of the partnership, scheduled for launch over the next 12 months.”
