Silver Awards From ‘Welcome To Yorkshire’!

On Monday 23rd November, the team at Welcome to Yorkshire held the 2020 White Rose Awards, virtually.

It was a far cry from the glitzy, star-studded event that we’re used to but equally as fantastic as we tuned in from the comfort of our own homes.

We were thrilled to be nominated as finalists in the ‘Taste of Yorkshire, Casual Dining’ & ‘Large Visitor Centre’ categories. Those who are aware of the White Rose Awards are aware that to be shortlisted is an accolade in itself.

After a lot of nail-biting and flutters in our stomachs…the time came to announce the winners!

We are so proud and over the moon to announce that we WON SILVER in both categories. We were up against some tough competition…across the whole of Yorkshire. Pipped to the post by Harewood House, near Leeds and one of the most coveted restaurants in York, The Rattle Owl. See below for the full list finalists and winners.

After a tumultuous year, a silver award in both categories really is an amazing achievement and a credit to our dedicated Visitor Centre team.
