STEP INTO CHRISTMAS AT THE WENSLEYDALE CREAMERY VISITOR CENTRE

The Wensleydale Creamery, the famous cheese-makers based in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, is the only place to be this December, as it pulls out all the stops to create a magical festive season at its Visitor Centre in the market town of Hawes.

Visitors heading to The Wensleydale Creamery, can enjoy a ‘Festive Taste of Yorkshire’, with exclusive Christmas shopping, including build-your-own hampers, plus fantastic home-made, seasonal food and drink served in Calvert’s Restaurant and the 1897 Coffee Shop.

The Creamery’s popular Christmas shopping evenings will be held on Thursday 8th and Tuesday  20th December from 5-8pm, with free mince pies and mulled wine and 20 per cent off all products*. Christmas shoppers can enjoy a live performance from the Askrigg Hand Bell Ringers on 8th December, and also sample the wonderful collection of artisan liqueurs from Sloemotion, who will be joining The Creamery for the evening. Visitors on 20th December will be entertained by a live performance from local folk band Peg Powler.  To make a full night of it, shoppers can relax with a tempting Yorkshire Tapas menu being served on both nights in Calvert’s Restaurant 5-7.30pm.

Delicious Christmas Lunches, which feature the Creamery’s award-winning cheeses too, are now being served in Calvert’s Restaurant at The Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre, seven days a week.  All dishes are home-made using locally sourced ingredients, and are great value from just £12.95.  Booking is advisable.

Visitors can taste their way around every type of Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese in the much-loved Cheese Shop, including festive favourites Mince Pie Yorkshire Wensleydale, new Gingerbread Yorkshire Wensleydale, and the best seller and firm favourite on the Christmas cheeseboard; Yorkshire Wensleydale and Cranberries. Not forgetting Wensleydale Blue, and of course, Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese itself. The Gift Shop also offers a wide range of regional produce, beautiful gifts and build-your-own hampers.

David Hartley, managing director of The Wensleydale Creamery, said: “The Wensleydale Creamery really comes to life during the festive season, as we know our range of Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese is a firm family favourite throughout Christmas. Our blended cheeses and truckles sell incredibly well during the winter months, particularly our famous Yorkshire Wensleydale and Cranberries, an original creation from the Wensleydale Creamery, that we developed 20 years ago.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors to The Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre, to enjoy fantastic food & drink, choose their festive favourites for the cheeseboard, and take home tasty gifts and hampers for friends and family.”
