Sue’s Famous home-made Oatcakes

Our famous oatcakes that we serve here in the Visitor Centre! The perfect accompaniment for your cheese and chutney, they’re delicious and really easy to make and enjoy at home.

Makes around 15-20 Oat biscuits

Ingredients

  • 8oz butter
  • 8oz oats
  • 8oz plain flour
  • 4oz caster sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • ½ teaspoon of bi-carb
  • ½ teaspoon of white wine vinegar

Method

  1. Mix the top ingredients together until combined before mixing the bottom ingredients together in a separate jug.

2. Once combined, add them to the top ingredients and mix till combined.

3. Roll out on a lightly floured surface till around thickness of a pound coin and cut out

4. Bake for 10-15mins on 170c oven
