The Wensleydale Creamery Launches New Luxury Yogurt Range

Trusted dairy expert, The Wensleydale Creamery, has announced the launch of a new luxury ‘Yorkshire Yogurt’ range, which will hit the shelves this week (with listings in Asda and independent retailers from 8th June).

Yorkshire Yogurt will tap into the growing category, set to be worth £2.1 billion by 2018. The yogurt is produced using Yorkshire milk and features a fruit layer, available in four flavours; strawberry & raspberry, lemon curd, rhubarb & vanilla and toffee apple.

Packaged in pots designed to highlight the fruit layer, the striking designs also proudly showcase the Wensleydale Creamery’s British dairy credentials displaying the Union Jack flag, coupled with four distinct coloured lids to aid shelf standout. A new webpage www.YorkshireYogurt.co.uk has also been developed to showcase the range.

David Hartley, Managing Director of The Wensleydale Creamery, said: “It’s an exciting time for the brand with the addition of our new yogurts to the Wensleydale Creamery product portfolio. We spotted a clear gap in the market for a luxury Yorkshire Yogurt range with a focus on premium quality and a naturally creamy taste.

“The Wensleydale Creamery is a trusted dairy brand which is renowned for quality and great taste. We are following on from the success of our award winning Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese, and more recently butter, which has been well received by consumers in the wider dairy category. Our research clearly illustrated that consumers desire a luxury yogurt delivering great taste and flavour, without the need to add cream.”

The launch will be supported by multi buy deals plus PR, social media, sampling and competitions with plans to extend the range and formats in the future.  Yorkshire Yogurt (150g) will be sold in Asda stores, with a RRP of 79p and will be supported with a three for £2 launch deal. The yogurts will also be sold through independent farm shops and delis and the Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre.

    Hello
Do you supply your yoghurt S to any outlets in Edinburgh. I tasted your yoghurt at Paul ainsworth in padstow. They are beautiful.

Hi Jane, we’re so glad that you like them! Unfortunately it’s difficult to say exactly where they are stocked as we supply the wholesalers who then sell to the individual retailers.

On looking to locate your yoghurts it states that they are to be sold on launch in Asda yet I cannot see them on the website. I appreciate this was twelve months ago and wondered if you no longer supply Asda.

Hi Clive, availability may depend on the area in which you live. At present the yogurts are stocked in predominantly northern stores, and also regional Tescos and Co op stores.
      Many thanks.
