Wensleydale Creamery feature on BBC2’s Great British Railway Journeys with Michael Portillo.

We were delighted to welcome the team from BBC2’s Great British Railway Journeys to the Wensleydale Creamery last summer, as they filmed in the area for their Northallerton to Chester Le Street episode, which airs this week.

Presented by Michael Portillo, our team here at the Creamery were able to share our 1000 history of cheesemaking in the Dales along with the sprinkling of magic that makes our Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese so special.

Mr Portillo also got to try his hand at cheesemaking, creating a Yorkshire Wensleydale Mini Tall before  sampling our most famous pairing – Yorkshire Wensleydale and rich fruitcake, which as you may know, is a regional delicacy, and one which he seemed to enjoy!
