Wensleydale Creamery Showcased at Downing Street

Our team headed to London last week after being invited to attend Downing Street’s annual Festive Showcase.

The event, which celebrates British businesses export success, was an opportunity to showcase our award-winning range to the invited guests, including Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Chancellor Jeremy Hunt.

On show was our most popular exported cheese, Yorkshire Wensleydale & Cranberries, along with Wensleydale Blue, Kit Calvert Old-Style Wensleydale, and of course Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese which we served with fruit cake.

With Wensleydale products loved throughout the world, our exports now account for almost a fifth (18%) of our business here at the Creamery, with our range available in 16 different countries worldwide.

Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister and MP for Richmondshire (Yorkshire), where the Creamery is based said: “I’m delighted to have welcomed Wensleydale Creamery to Downing Street this week as part of our festive street market showcasing the best of British businesses.

“Wensleydale is a great Yorkshire cheese, and the company has grown to employ over 200 people and export as far afield as Australia, showcasing the best of fine Yorkshire produce across the world.”
