Winter Warmer – a Festive Treat

2015 marked the 20th anniversary of The Wensleydale Creamery inventing Yorkshire Wensleydale & Cranberries cheese.

It is an iconic pairing which has since been copied by many others across the country, paving the way for many other creative blends of cheese that grow more adventurous as time goes on.

A little known fact is that Yorkshire Wensleydale & Cranberries cheese is one of our biggest selling products. It accounts for around a quarter of our business each year, and has become a firm favourite both here in the UK and abroad.

With this success in mind, we decided to put a Christmassy twist on this cheese, and create a special version that is only available in November and December – and so Winter Warmer was born!

It is a delightful combination of creamy, crumbly and full of flavour Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese, with sweet cranberries and the warming flavours of mulled wine and cinnamon. A truly festive treat!

This cheese is delicious just to nibble on, or on sweet biscuits. You might add it to a cheeseboard, serve it with some plain crackers or some fresh figs. You could even create a festive cheesecake, by adapting our Yorkshire Wensleydale & Ginger Cheesecake; omitting the ginger and replacing the cheese.
